Vicious Circle by Wilbur Smith

Wilbur Smith comes high in recommendations and I was on the edge of my seat for a while and carried away with suspense and thrillers so picked this one up for my #7shadesofbooks theme.

My expectations were pretty high when I started reading this one.

I can’t say I was disappointed but neither was I pleased. I have heard so highly of Wilbur Smith that this didn’t do justice to what I have heard. I would want to try another book of his.

This book is based in Africa and the way the author describes is astonishing, every scene has such intricate details and there is a lot of gruesome killing and it creeps me out a little but some scenes give your goosebumps like when Hector (the protagonist) is narrating of killing a lion in Masai Mara National park in Kenya. I really loved some parts and disliked some.

All in all I would rate this book of 2.5 on 5
